Dr. Janell Dowling
After graduating from Kansas State University, Dr. Dowling happily returned to her home state of Florida to practice veterinary medicine. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, internal medicine, surgery and the human-animal bond. She is also on the board for the Pinellas Animal Foundation and the Seminole Vocational Education Center. Dr. Dowling is very excited to be a part of the Bayshore Animal Hospital family! She has a Jack Russell Terrier named Daisy and two Caiques named Monty and Apple. Besides her love for volunteering her surgical skills at Pinellas County Animal Control, she also finds enjoyment when hiking, cooking, walking on the beach and watching movies while snuggled on the couch with the whole family including the four-legged and feathered members!
Dr. Steven Sanders
Practice Owner / Veterinarian
Dr. Sanders received his Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology in 1986. He then received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from The University of Maryland in 1990 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in 1996. He also belongs to the Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Sanders started working at Bayshore in 1996 and has been an owner since 2001. He is also accredited through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
Dr. Stephen Wehrmann
Practice Owner / Veterinarian
Dr. Wehrmann graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Zoology and then went on to earn his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri . He has written many articles regarding companion animal care that have appeared in regional and national publications, and has also lectured at veterinary meetings and numerous companion pet organizations. Dr. Wehrmann has also hosted a national call in radio program and written a book about dogs. Dr. Wehrmann has a special interest in surgery and avian medicine. He has provided quality, compassionate pet care for dogs, cats, and birds for many years at Bayshore Animal Hospital and has served as president for both the Pinellas Animal Foundation and the St. Petersburg Emergency Clinic. He and his wife Kimberly enjoy spending time with their 3 dogs named Millie, Pippen, and Little Sister and 2 horses named Jack and Sweet Ole Bob.
Certified Veterinary Technican, Digital Marketing and Brand Management
Kimberly received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of South Florida and Associate Science in Veterinary Technology from St Petersburg College. She has worked in the veterinary industry for 20 years working in small animal hospitals as a Certified Veterinary Technican and currently in animal health distribution with a veterinary pharmaceutical company. She has volunteered with World Vets traveling to Peru and Honduras to help witht he pet population and communities. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her husband on the water. Her pet family includes 3 dogs. Millie, a long hair dachsund, Pippen a chi-weenie and Little Sister Mary, a chihuahua mix rescued from San Antonio Pets Alive. She and Dr Wehrmann also have two horses named Jack and Sweet Ole Bob.
Megan has worked in the veterinary field for a number of years and has a special interest in critical care and the more unique medicine cases. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities and has a large focus on running. Her pet family includes dog named Pickles and three cats named, Monster, Monkey and Mr. Jenks.
Megan is currently enrolled in the Nursing program at St. Petersburg College and plans to become a Registered Nurse.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Glenda has always been passionate about animals. Having horses for many years, she enjoys riding and time outdoors. Glenda loves to spend time with family including her husband, two daughters, and of course their dogs, Gunner and Maddie.
Glenda is a highly trained nurse. She has a special interest in surgical nursing and critical care. Glenda is also an advocate for pet dental care and is very skilled in dental radiology and cleaning procedures. She holds herself, and the Bayshore team to the highest of standards with patient care.
Glenda is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has an Associate in Science degree from St. Petersburg College.
Susie has always had pets in her life. She loves outdoor activities including long walks, biking, and hiking. Susie enjoys spending time with her family and volunteers with her community and church. Her family includes a husband, daughter, a dog and a cat. Her pet’s names are Snickers and Sparticus.
Susie cares deeply for clients and their pets at Bayshore Animal Hospital. She will always go above and beyond to make them feel at home.
Susie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of the South, in Sewanee, TN.
Lynn has always had an interest in a variety of pets as well as different organizations. These include training and search and rescue. She has a number of pets in her family. These include two dogs, Bravo and Magnum and two rabbits named Brambles and Magic. She also has two birds, Timmy and Dickens.
Lynn will always try and help clients with a variety of pets and provide them with the information that they need to care for them. She has a very special interest in surgery and emergency medicine. Lynn has completed first responder certification through DART (Disaster Animal Response Team) within the state of Florida.
Brittany loves getting to know a variety of animals. She loves to learn about different species of pets. Outside interests include spending time with family, reading, a day at the beach or the local flea market. Her pet family includes a dog, Harley, and a cat named Emi.
Brittany holds an Associate’s degree from Edison State College and is current enrolled in a Biology program at St. Petersburg College.

Animal Care Attendant
Jadzia has always had an interest in caring for animals. She also spends a lot of time with family, often cheering her sister on at local volleyball games. Other interests include cooking, with a special interest in baking. Her pets include goldfish named Cheeto, Rick, Kate, and Cheach.
Jadzia completed an internship at Bayshore Animal Hospital throughout her senior year of high school.
Animal Care Attendant
Ashley's dream since childhood is caring for pets. Today, she loves nothing more than walking her dogs. Other interests include painting and kayaking. Her family consists of two dogs, Alioops and Conner, two cats, Paulina and Thalia, and two of the cutest guinea pigs you will ever meet -Tulip and Luna.
Ashley has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Biology from Eckerd College.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Always an animal lover, Carrie has had dogs and cats in her home since she was a young girl. Carrie likes to spend time in St. Petersburg seeing the sites, running, or just taking a walk with her dogs. Carrie’s family includes both dogs and cats. Their names include Achilles, Sadie, Poe, Maggie, Buttercup, and Angus.
Carrie enjoys being part of the Bayshore team and caring for the animals as a trained nurse. She has a special interest in laboratory procedures and nursing care. Carrie is trained to provide laser therapy to the patients at Bayshore and likes to see the relief, or healing that it can provide.
Carrie is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has an Associate in Science degree from St. Petersburg College.
As long as she can remember, Jane has had a passion for animals. Jane enjoys cooking, biking, and an afternoon reading at the beach. She loves spending time with her two cats, Zed and Lulu.
Jane enjoys being part of the Bayshore team and loves hands on care with the animals. Jane has a Bachelors degree in Animal Biology from the University of South Florida and her career goal is to become a veterinarian.
Veterinary Assistant and Animal Care Attendant
Kelly has a passion for rescuing animals in need. She’s always had a variety of pets in her home. Kelly loves to spend time at the beach with family, friends, and her dogs. Kelly’s rescue family includes her dogs, Jimmy, Brutus, and Jessie. Her rescue cats include, Drax, Oliver, Biscuit, Panther, and Nadji.
Kelly really enjoys providing care for the animals at Bayshore. She loves to see them get better and go home happy.
Kelly has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Barry University and may want to become a veterinarian someday.
Jordyn loves learning about different species of animals and has always wanted to work in a veterinary setting. She loves taking her dogs to the beach and has a special interest in photography. Her pets include two dogs, Titan and Hercules.
Jordyn completed a Veterinary Assistant program throughout high school.
Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist
Tailar loves working with a variety of animals and has a special interest in reptiles and exotic pets. She has always wanted to work in a veterinary setting that allowed her the opportunity to work with reptiles. Tailar is very active and also spends time attending crossfit classes and entering competitions. Her family includes a dog named Mikka, a cat named Saki, and a Red Foot Tortoise named Merick.
Tailar has an Associates degree and is presently attending the Veterinary Technology program at St. Petersburg College.
Kayla loves working with animals and has always had an interest in biology. Other interests include the beach and playing beach volleyball on a beautiful day. Her pets include a dog named Sabol and two cats named Oliver and Crash.
Kayla attends the University of South Florida and is working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She dreams of someday becoming a veterinarian.
Savannah has always been interested in learning about animal behaviors. She spends a lot of time reading and studying the behaviors of a variety of animals. She also enjoys watching animal videos and playing video games. Her pet family includes two dogs, Lucy and Edward and two cats, Harley and Smudges.
Savannah is presently attending the Veterinary Technology program at St. Petersburg College.
From a very young age, Sarah knew that she would work with animals. She always had them in her home. Sarah really enjoys time with family, whether it be cooking or the outdoors. Weekends are spent on the water, boating, kayaking, or scuba diving. She also enjoys hiking and biking with her husband. Sarah has both dog and cat family members named Brody, Nala, and Kole.
Sarah loves working with the clients and their pets at Bayshore. Caring for the animals as a highly trained nurse is top priority for Sarah. Special interests include pet nutrition and exotic pet care.
Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Biology from Eckerd College.
