State-of-the-Art, In-House Diagnostic Tools, and Digital X-Rays

Veterinary examining dog

When your pet is injured or ill, or we spot something unusual during a wellness exam, you want answers fast. With our in-house, state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, and digital x-ray equipment, we can provide you with an accurate diagnosis quickly, so that we can create an appropriate care plan to get your pet on the road to better health as soon as possible.

Your pet’s blood contains the information our doctors need to spot most illnesses, diseases, and disorders. Our blood analyzer delivers accurate blood panel results in only 10 minutes from just three drops of blood. Our equipment is also capable of analyzing avian and reptilian blood panels. In an emergency situation, when minutes count, this ability to pinpoint an illness quickly is especially crucial.

We also perform in-house ear and skin cytology to identify bacterial sources of infections on the skin surface. Occasionally, we will refer patients to an outside reference laboratory for certain biopsies, but rest assured that we will request fast results to reduce your waiting time and anxiety.

Digital X-rays

When your pet has an injury or condition that requires more than an external examination, our digital x-ray equipment provides a noninvasive way of getting fast, clear information to help us provide an accurate diagnosis.

Digital x-rays are commonly used to detect broken bones, tumors, swallowed foreign objects, and some conditions that affect the organs or major systems of the body. Prior to your pet’s x-ray, your doctor will discuss if sedation may be warranted. For calm, cooperative pets, no sedation is typically necessary. If your doctor does determine that mild sedation or general anesthesia is needed, we will counsel you ahead of time and take every necessary precaution to ensure your pet’s safety.
