Dr. Hunter Burns earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020, completing his clinical year at North Carolina State University.
Since then, he has worked in a variety of settings, developing a strong foundation in both routine care and critical, fast-paced emergency environments. His goal is simple — to provide pets with the highest standard of care, while supporting their humans with empathy, communication, and trust.
Originally from North Carolina, his path has taken him around the world — from the vibrant culture of Australia to the island life of St. Kitts and Nevis, the fast pace of Washington, D.C., and now to the sunny, pet-loving community of St. Petersburg. These experiences have shaped both his worldview and his approach to veterinary medicine: open-minded, adaptive, and always centered around compassionate care.
When he's not at the clinic, he is likely curled up with a good book, scuba diving somewhere new, or enjoying a Disney getaway. He lives with his two cats, Pua and Meeko, who are, without a doubt, the loves of his life.
